The Women's Texas Golf Association was founded in to host an annual tournament and transact "other such business as may be deemed proper" to grow the game among women. The WTGA Scholarship Program was created to provide financial assistance to support and encourage young women golfers who are seeking higher education. Since it's founding inthe 'Nez Muhleman and Doris Kallina Scholarships have provided college funding for 14 young women.
Lady Margaret averaged 42 for nine holes, winning the majority of matches comfortably and defeating Issette Pearson in the final by 7 and 5. Lady Margaret was a natural, self-taught player, who learned her golf on the family course at Stowell Park and had beaten men in tournament play. It should be noted that there was little or no involvement of Scottish lady golfers for the first four years of the competition.
The field will be limited to the lowest 24 qualified women. There will be NO age bracket flights. Refunds are NOT available after the closing date of June 5th, except for documented medical reasons.
It was all very sedate and ever so slightly staged. This felt more like an exhibition than a golf tournament. Which, being cynical, may have been precisely what it was — a demonstration by Augusta National Golf Club that prejudicial antics can be considered a thing of the past.
Players must choose upon registration which flight they will compete in. Championship or Quarrier Division Upon conclusion of Round 2, players in the Quarrier Division will be flighted into a maximum of three 3 flights, but will be determined depending on field size. Each flight will have a gross winner trophy presented at the conclusion of the championship.
The network will provide three hours of live coverage noon to 3 p. Everyone in the field will then play an official practice round at Augusta National on April 5 Friday. However, when the final round is contested on that Saturday, only the top 30 players and ties will compete at ANGC.
